Engraving lends itself particularly well to signage that is required in either unusual places or where the conditions would be hostile to lesser materials.

Typically engraved materials which can include laminated plastics and metals including aluminium alloys, brass and stainless steel for example tend to be more robust than lower grade material that can also be used for signmaking.

These engraved materials are more resistant to corrosive chemical spillage and exterior locations, and are particular long lasting in commercial environments that are subject to high degrees of wear or long term physical contacts.

These could typically include external plaques, control and machinery panels, identity tags or in areas subject to abrasion from airborne particles for example sand and sea.
